It is with deep sadness that the European Society of Cardiology marks the passing of
Alan Howard, former ESC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), whose leadership significantly contributed to shaping the modern ESC.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Edith, and to his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of working with him. He will be remembered with deep respect and sincere gratitude.
